Greece has completed its first round of humanitarian assistance to Lebanon, according to a statement from the Greek Embassy in Beirut.
The embassy said “Greece remains consistent in its role as a pillar of stability and solidarity in the Eastern Mediterranean and declares its practical support for the government and the friendly people of Lebanon,” adding it was “responding immediately to the current humanitarian crisis and the Flash Appeal by the UN Secretary-General.”

The aid package, delivered through Hellenic Aid, includes three key components: €300,000 in emergency funding to the UN’s Lebanon Humanitarian Fund, €500,000 to support the country’s health system in cooperation with the World Health Organisation for a “Life-Saving and Limb-Saving Hospitalisation” program, and the delivery of three tonnes of supplies.
The humanitarian cargo, comprising medical supplies, food, water and basic necessities, was transported by a Greek Air Force C-130 to Beirut’s Rafic Hariri International Airport and handed over to Lebanese authorities for distribution.
Greek officials said the initiative reaffirms the country’s commitment to supporting neighbouring nations and contributing to international relief efforts.
