Sydney’s Greek community celebrated Valentine’s Day in memorable fashion at the Greek Community Club in Lakemba, as Alania Band presented “Μια Νύχτα Αγάπης” – (A Night of Love), an evening that combined elegant dining, live entertainment and lots of Greek kefi.
Marking the band’s first event of the year, the evening attracted an impressive turnout, nearly reaching a sell-out.

Guests enjoyed a beautifully styled venue and a three-course dining experience led by Chef Aris Chatzigeorgiou, whose cuisine and professional service received strong praise.
As the night progressed, Alania’s dynamic performance kept the dance floor full, with couples, families and friends embracing the festive Valentine’s spirit.
The band’s signature blend of classic and contemporary Greek favourites ensured an atmosphere that was both romantic and energetic.

Behind the scenes, the event’s success was further strengthened by the efforts of Vicky and Betty, whose work in decorating the tables and assisting with ticket coordination at the door helped create a smooth and welcoming experience for guests.
Adding to the excitement of the evening was the lucky door prize draw, with congratulations extended to Stella, who was delighted to win a beautiful Valentine’s hamper.

Reflecting on the evening, band leader and bouzouki player Michael Naxakis expressed his gratitude to all who contributed to the night’s success.
“To see the room full, the dance floor alive, and so many people celebrating together was incredibly rewarding,” Mr Naxakis said.

“This night was about bringing the community together through music, love, and shared experiences. We are deeply grateful for the support and already excited for what’s ahead in the year.”
With strong community support and overwhelming positive feedback, “Μια Νύχτα Αγάπης” has set a high benchmark for Alania’s 2026 calendar.
