Wolli Creek brothers Yianni Tomaras, 33, and Meneleos Tomaras, 30, have pleaded guilty to affray after attacking a former friend twice in one day over an unpaid debt.
Yianni also admitted to larceny for stealing the victim’s iPhone 14 during the second assault.
The violent incidents unfolded in April, beginning inside the busy Tramsheds IGA in Glebe.
Meneleos initially confronted the victim at the checkout, threatening, “Come follow me outside and I’ll kill ya.”
After the man paid for his groceries, the brothers returned, with Yianni launching a series of punches and kneeing him in the face, dragging him to the ground in front of shocked shoppers.

An hour later, the Tomaras brothers ambushed the man again on the street, punching and kicking him as he pleaded, “You already got me, just let me go.”
Police arrested the pair later that day after identifying them on CCTV. One assault charge was withdrawn, and another will be considered at sentencing.
Both men remain on bail ahead of their sentencing on August 6. Yianni, who has a more extensive criminal record, will undergo a sentencing assessment report.
