Sydney school principal Voula Soumelidis calls out parent misconduct

·

Bonnyrigg Public School principal Voula Soumelidis has publicly condemned a series of aggressive incidents involving parents, warning the behaviour is unacceptable and may lead to formal action.

In a recent school newsletter, Soumelidis said several parents had engaged in verbal abuse directed at staff and other parents — all in front of students.

“This is very disappointing behaviour,” she wrote.

“This is not acceptable. The school will not tolerate this behaviour and will be forced to issue the Enclosed Lands Act to those responsible if this behaviour continues.”

Soumelidis’ comments come amid a broader pattern of alarming parent behaviour reported across both NSW state and private schools, with principals citing verbal abuse, threats, covert recordings of teachers, and bullying on WhatsApp groups.
