Nominate your unsung heroine from Australia’s Hellenic community for International Women’s Day 2025

Each year, International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated globally on March 8 and this year’s theme is #MarchForward.

The Greek Herald is celebrating IWD 2025 by recognising the achievements of ‘unsung heroines’ (women) in Australia’s Hellenic community.

We want YOU to NOMINATE the women who embody the spirit of #MarchForward by inspiring others and making a meaningful impact across all domains.

This year, we are proud to present two award categories: ‘The Greek Herald Woman of the Year Award’ and the ‘Woman to Watch Award.’

The ‘The Greek Herald Woman of the Year Award’ is open to entries aged 25 and over, celebrating exceptional women who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, innovation, and contributions across all areas of society. These women inspire others through their achievements and dedication, making a significant impact in their respective fields.

The exciting new category, the ‘Woman to Watch Award,’ is dedicated to recognising women under 25 who are making a remarkable difference and creating a lasting impact. These rising stars and emerging leaders represent the next generation of trailblazers.

To nominate, fill in the entry form below and tells us in 200 words or less how your ‘unsung heroine’ from Australia’s Greek community is making an impact on people’s lives.

This year, an independent panel will select the winners from both categories, ‘The Greek Herald Woman of the Year Award 2025’ and the ‘Woman to Watch Award.’

The finalists will be announced on International Women’s Day (Saturday, March 8) in The Greek Herald’s dedicated IWD special edition. The winners will be revealed on the evening of Sunday, March 16 and will be celebrated as the cover story in The Greek Herald, featuring exclusive interviews that highlight their remarkable journey and achievements.

The winners will also be photographed by renowned photographer Effy Alexakis, celebrated for capturing the Greek Australian experience over four decades.
