Maria Menounos named ambassador for Attica region in the US

Greek American TV presenter and social media personality Maria Menounos has been appointed as the Ambassador for the Attica region, to promote the area in the United States, tovima.com has reported.

Menounos, along with her husband, was welcomed by the Governor of Attica, Nikos Hardalias, during a visit to Athens.

“One of the most prominent and recognizable figures of the Greek Diaspora is supporting our efforts to promote Attica internationally,” stated the Governor of Attica, Nikos Hardalias, in a post.

“The leading GreekAmerican TV host, Maria Menounos, is the Ambassador of the Attica Region across the American continent, conveying the dynamic spirit of the new era we envision.”

During their meeting, Menounos and Hardalias discussed major development projects planned for Attica and the region’s strategic efforts to enhance its tourism appeal.

Known for her work in television and film, Menounos has co-hosted the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest in Athens, co-founded and currently serves as CEO of the online podcast network AfterBuzz TV, and has previously hosted Extra and E! News. She also worked as a correspondent for NBC’s Today.

“As someone who always holds Greece close to her heart, Maria Menounos shared her proposals with us for opening new channels of communication, aiming to make the Attica Region the top choice for Americans for both vacations and business trips”, Hardalias said in his post.
