Leaders of Greece and Germany reaffirm strong bilateral relations at meeting

·

Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, highlighted the remarkable progress in Greek-German ties in a joint statement following their meeting in Berlin on Tuesday, 14 November.

According to AMNA, Mitsotakis emphasised that Greece is entering a new chapter in its history, shifting from being Europe’s “black sheep” to being one of the Eurozone’s most stable economies.

“German companies are first among the foreign investors in our country and [Germany] is our second main supplier and the third biggest customer for Greek products,” Mitsotakis said.

The German Chancellor added to Mitsotakis’ statement by expressing that their shared perspective on Hamas being a “terror organisation” and the overall Israeli-Palestinian conflict also aids in strengthening ties between Greece and Germany.
