Greek-owned restaurants in Victoria and Queensland win big at excellence awards

The winners of the 2023 Restaurant & Catering Awards for Excellence in Queensland and Victoria have been announced, and at least two Greek restaurants have been victorious.

These annual Awards formally recognise hospitality operators across a broad range of categories who provide exceptional service and demonstrate culinary excellence in their fields. 

Some of these categories include Best Asian Restaurant, Best Breakfast Restaurant, Best Café Dining, Best Contemporary Australian Restaurant, Best European Restaurant, Best Indian Restaurant, Best Italian Restaurant, Best Premium Dining Restaurant, Best Restaurant in a Hotel/ Resort, Best Restaurant in a Pub/Club and Best Steak Restaurant.

Several awards were also handed to the best catering companies.

In Queensland, Yamas Greek & Drink in West End claimed the title of ‘Best Greek Restaurant.’ It is known for cooking up the flavours of Thessaloniki in the vibes of West Village. Their menu offers Greek delights and has a strong seafood focus.

In Victoria, Mavs Greek Restaurant in Geelong received two awards – one for ‘Best Greek Restaurant’ and one for ‘Best Family Dining’ restaurant.

In a post on Facebook, Mavs Greek Restaurant shared their joy with claiming two awards.

“A BIG THANK YOU to our amazing customers who give us energy and motivation to move forward,” the restaurant shared.
