Brisbane’s Skye by Pikos reaches new heights with nod to Hellenic heritage

·

Brisbane’s city skyline is fast evolving, and its newest iconic landmark – Skye by Pikos – has just reached its full height.

Skye is setting a new benchmark for Brisbane’s luxury property market and is set directly above one of Brisbane’s most photographed landscapes – the heritage-listed Kangaroo Point cliffs.

The ‘Topping out’ of the three-tower development was celebrated this week, following the final structural slab of concrete poured on the top, 14th floor.

Throughout the construction phase the project will have created approximately 140 full time equivalent (direct and indirect) jobs per year, and will have generated a total of $85 million in economic impact.  (Source: Urbis)

Now a focal point for the Kangaroo Point cliffs landscape, Skye has become a new city landmark – transforming views from the river, the CBD, the City Botanic Gardens and beyond.

Increasingly the river has truly become Brisbane’s heart, with Skye adding to the Brisbane river-scape alongside new infrastructure and riverfront precincts.

Set on the exclusive River Terrace dress circle, Skye is in the privileged position of having 100 metre river frontage along River Terrace.

Pikos Group CEO Michelle Wooldridge said: “This city shaping project brings a new level of luxury to Brisbane’s property market and meets a growing demand for premium apartments that offer a prestigious standard of living.”

Every fixture and fitting have been carefully curated to ensure Skye reaches the height of luxury.  A massive 18,000 square metres of Roman Classic Travertine has been imported from Tivoli in Italy, and travertine will feature extensively throughout each home’s kitchen, bathroom and extra-large balcony.

Skye is a legacy building for Pikos and will be a jewel in the crown of the company’s 37 year history. It comprises 64 three bedroom residences, four penthouses and one super penthouse known as ‘Skye One’.

With the building structure now complete, work continues on the interiors. The architecture will remain hidden behind scaffolding until late this year.

Ms Wooldridge said: “With the Olympics just seven years away, Brisbane’s evolution continues to transform the city into a world class destination. The quality of housing is also setting new benchmarks – with Skye set to be one of the most prestigious developments on offer in Queensland.”

Developed by Pikos Group, Skye is being built by Tomkins. Director, Mike Tomkins, said: “The topping out of Skye signifies an exciting milestone for these luxury residences. We want to thank our site team, subcontractors and consultants for their invaluable contributions to date.”

An olive tree was selected by Tomkins to mark the “topping out” milestone – a living symbol of resilience, longevity and connection to the environment. The choice also pays tribute to the Greek heritage of the Pikos Group. The tree will be retained as part of the final landscape, serving as a lasting reminder of the values that have guided this development.
