Luke Sparos has been identified as the man police allege orchestrated the 2023 execution-style killing of Sydney underworld figure Alen Moradian, following the lifting of a suppression order in the NSW Supreme Court.
According to The Daily Telegraph, the 45-year-old, previously known in court as “AA,” is accused of ordering the assassination of his former best friend, a senior Comanchero Motorcycle Club member.
Police allege the pair’s decades-long friendship collapsed in 2022 over a drug debt linked to bikie Andre Kalita.
Moradian, 48, was shot dead at 8.11am on June 27, 2023, in the underground carpark of an apartment block in Bondi Junction.
Detectives allege Sparos assembled a team that tracked Moradian for three weeks prior.
Court documents claim Sparos said of Moradian: “The ego has cost him now,” and that after the shooting he and associates sang “If you like Pina Colada” and exchanged messages stating, “I love youse,” and “I love youse more.”
Sparos was arrested on September 19, 2023, and charged with murder. He remains on remand in Goulburn Supermax and is preparing to fight the charge.
Police also allege Moradian had taken out a contract on Sparos amid escalating tensions.
Moradian, known as “Mr Versace,” was previously exposed as a key member of the Golden Gun syndicate, which imported 300kg of cocaine into Sydney.
