Andrew Cochineas sets Mosman record with $50 million mansion purchase

·

Andrew Cochineas, chief executive of precious metals group Pallion, and his wife Lisette have emerged as the buyers behind Mosman’s record-breaking $50 million mansion sale – now the highest residential sale ever recorded on Sydney’s north shore, according to smh.com

The luxury six-bedroom estate was sold by the Balnaves family and officially settled this month, confirming both the price and the buyers’ identities. The property was purchased under Lisette Cochineas’ name, former NSW and ACT general manager for the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

The Mediterranean-style residence sits on a sprawling 2235sqm block with uninterrupted views stretching from North Head to South Head and Balmoral Beach. Originally redesigned by architect Daniel Boddam in 2011, the home features Palladian-inspired architecture, formal and casual living wings, a central atrium water feature, travertine bathrooms, a wet-edge pool, spa, gym and steam room.

The Cochineas family is reportedly upgrading from another luxury Mosman residence they purchased in 2006 for $3.25 million, with local sources suggesting the property could hit the market later this year.

The blockbuster deal was finalised just days before the mansion officially launched in October with a price guide between $45 million and $50 million.
