Angelina Jolie filming in Greece for new Maria Callas biopic

Angelina Jolie has begun filming key scenes in Greece for her new biopic based on the legendary opera singer Maria Callas.

The Hollywood actress has been seen filming scenes at the Apollo theatre in Pyrgos and was transferred to a seaside town named Katakolo where a yacht named Christina O is located.

The biopic will explore the life and death of the iconic and controversial singer, who is best known for her tumultuous, beautiful, and tragic life story.

Pablo Larrain, the director of the film has said how excited he is to begin production, with the hope that Maria Callas’ remarkable life and work is brought to audiences around the world.

Whilst the film will heavily acknowledge Callas’s life, the film is also being commended for its wardrobe choices. Jolie has been seen wearing costumes which are based on real garments worn by Callas, including vintage fur items which belong to archived collections.

Currently, there is no release date, but filming will wrap up at the end of December 2023.
