Peter Dutton MP joins Greek community in celebrating Easter

Australia’s Leader of the Opposition, Peter Dutton MP, has sent a message to the Greek community to mark Orthodox Easter this year.

Full message:

“On behalf of the Coalition, I wish the team and loyal readership of The Greek Herald a very happy Easter.

Greek Orthodox Easter is a special occasion for Greeks of Christian faith across the world. It is a time to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ; a time for reflection and renewal. Across our nation, many Australians of Greek ancestry will gather with loved ones and share traditions which have been passed down through generations.

They will attend church services, dye red eggs and bake tsoureki.
As we celebrate this Easter, I want to acknowledge and thank our 425,000 strong Australian Greek community. Your culture has enriched our country.

And your contributions to our nation in so many fields of endeavour help make Australia the best country to live in the world.

May this Easter bring you and your loved ones peace and happiness. Kalo Pascha.”
