Maserati has revealed its first all-electric SUV vehicle, the Masterati Grecale Folgore, which translates to ‘Greek Thunderbolt.’
In Greek mythology, the thunderbolt was the weapon of Zeus, the God of Lightning.
According to teslarati.com, the vehicle was showcased at the Shanghai Auto Show and will first be introduced to China before entering other markets.
“It’s a defining moment for the Maserati brand,” CEO, Davide Grasso, said.
“It’s a new beginning for the brand. We’re celebrating Folgore, the electrification plan that has become a reality and is ready to pave the way in this revolutionary era.”
The Grecale Folgore will come with over 500 horsepower and over 590 pound-feet of torque, powered by a sizeable 105kWh battery. The brand states that the upcoming electric SUV will have a top speed of 124mph.
