Government funding supports essential works at St Nectarios Parish in Burwood

·

The Saint Nectarios Greek Orthodox Parish and Community of Burwood and District, Sydney, has welcomed vital upgrades to its heritage church, thanks to support from the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnerships Program.

A $20,000 grant has been allocated for the installation of new gutters, downpipes, and ground plumbing works to ensure the long-term preservation and maintenance of the much-loved parish.

The Member for Strathfield, Jason Yat-sen Li MP, recently visited Saint Nectarios to view the works underway and to meet with members of the parish board.

During the visit, he commended the community’s efforts in maintaining the historic church and acknowledged the importance of government support in preserving sites of cultural and spiritual significance.

In a post on Facebook, parish leaders highlighted the board’s strong track record in successfully securing government grants to meet the needs of both the church and the wider community. They expressed their deep gratitude to Mr Yat-sen Li for his ongoing support and advocacy.
