Samian Brotherhood of Sydney & NSW donate to Samos hospitals

·

The Samian Brotherhood of Sydney and New South Wales ‘Lykourgos’ have donated to the Samos General Hospital “Agios Panteleimonas” and the Health Centre at Karlovasi.

In the past, the Samian Brotherhood had donated a blood bank refrigerator to the Samos General Hospital. Now, following a visit by Committee members to the Greek island of Samos, the hospital’s Director mentioned a need for 10 Electric Recovery Beds. At the Karlovasi Health Centre, there was a need for six electronic computers and three printers.

Samian Brotherhood members unanimously consented to proceed with the purchase and donation of the equipment simultaneously.

Secretary of the Samian Brotherhood, Takis Triadafillou, worked hard behind the scenes to solicit offers from various medical equipment and electronic computer companies for the best price and quality.

The purchase of the Electric Recovery Beds was made from Paterakis Company based in Piraeus, and the purchase of the computers by Karageorgiou Company based in Vathy.

The director of the Samos General Hospital, Mrs Angelis, announced the donation to the local media of Samos, and the Samian Brotherhood also received a thank you letter from the Administrative Board of the General Hospital.

“With this donation, the Samian Brotherhood ‘Lykourgos’ demonstrates its commitment to promoting healthcare on the island,” the Board said.

“Their noble initiative and action once again express their excessive love for their homeland and its healthcare unit. We warmly thank everyone for their support.”
