Aaron Zerefos is returning to Australia to attend this weekend’s Repco Bathurst 1000 after competing at the Porsche Rennsport Reunion 7 at the internationally-acclaimed Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca in the USA last weekend.
In front of an enormous audience of 91,000 spectators, along with a massive gathering of racing icons and Porsche enthusiasts, Zerefos was behind the wheel of a vintage 1970 Porsche 911 he was invited to drive at the event.
Spectators were able to witness an assortment of Porsches, ranging from historic to brand-new racing cars, tackling the Laguna Seca circuit including its famous Corkscrew corner.
There were also numerous presentations, technology workshops, and autograph sessions.
“The Rennsport Reunion is absolutely unique, and showcases everything that the Porsche brand means to its supporters,” Zerefos explained.
“Fans and owners of racing cars were united in their passion, which made the atmosphere really special.”
The Bathurst 1000 also contains a distinct Porsche flavour, with the Carrera Cup Australia Championship headlining the support programme with three races across the weekend, including the curtain raiser to the Bathurst 1000 on Sunday morning, shown live on Channel 7 along with FOX Sports and Kayo.
